The Summer Fair is a quest-based game where players assume the identity of one of multiple animals. Said animal has a series of preparations they need to complete before the aforementioned Summer fair arrives.

The game is played without a die, with players being able to move anywhere from one to five squares every turn. As they move, players draw item cards(representing items they found on the forest floor) and encounter obstacles.

Obstacles are cards that are drawn once a player's pawn steps on designated squares. These cards will have requirements on them. The most common way to overcome an obstacle is by discarding a certain amount of common items (as specified on the card). Players are encouraged to make up explanations for how they would use the items to overcome the obstacle (i.e: I use the pen as a pole vault to jump over the fallen tree).

Each character has special abilities that act as boosts for movement, storage space... or as hindrances to the other characters. First one to finish their quests and return home wins. The Summer fair has arrived.
