Players represent Anglo-Texans, Mexicans, and Native Americans struggling to control and develop the untamed lands of Texas. They will seek wealth, power, and glory through claiming title over raw lands, cultivating a growing population, promoting commerce, and protecting their citizens.
Players deploy cards to build interlocking tableaus representing farms, ranches, and communities and can also play cards representing political leaders, spies, and military forces to dominated, subvert, or ravage their opponents' tableaus.
Players win by scoring points at game's end for cards in their tableau and having completed secret objectives they drew at the beginning of the game.
